Cecelia, Margaret, and I were very gratified to see many friends and admirers of dad collect and celebrate his life on July 5th. We estimate that about 130-140 people were gathered under the oaks in Sebastopol to honour him and support us. We know that there were many others who would have liked to have been with us–and they were there in thought and spirit.
For their assistance in organizing and facilitating the event, we must thank several people: Pat Nolan, as emcee and advisor; Tom & Sue Kelly, for advice, morale boosting, transport, materials, and clean-up; Markus Bennett for morale, advice, esthetics, transport, set-up, clean-up; Nathan LaForce, for transport, set-up, and clean-up; Susan Hornby for morale, advice, set-up, clean-up, nutritional counselling, and family management; Bill Vartnaw for transport, set-up, clean-up, and morale; James Garrahan, Robert Leverant, and Caitlin Parker for event photography/videography.
Over the next few weeks video and photos of the event will be put up on this site, or links provided.
